The Essential Oils for your healthy

essential oilsEssential Oils are highly concentrated and potent oils extracted from plants, leaves, flowers, roots, buds, twigs, rhizomes, heartwood, bark, resin, seeds and fruits.
How to Produce Essential Oils
Essential Oils, contrary to the use of the word "oil" are not really oily-feeling at all. Most essential oils are clear, but some oils such as patchouli, orange and lemongrass are amber or yellow in color.
Not only oils but also wax is obtained. These types of oils are called essences.
Quality of Essential Oils
Essential Oils branded as natural or 100% natural must have the botanical name on their labels. Some expensive oils are branded natural but sold with botanical oils or alcohol.

Labeling some products as "aroma oils", "fragrance" or "perfumed" oils is often confusing and overused by dishonest merchants. As a rule, high quality oils are expensive. Purely natural essential oils can sometimes vary in their quality.

Storage and Durability of Essential Oils
Essential oils are sensitive to temperature and light. The most volatile are citrus oils which can last for 12-18 months. Woody and resinous oils are the most durable - 3-4 years. The rest of oils around 2 years.
The oil that becomes opaque is useless.
Essential Oils Application and Dosage
As they are strong (you need 30 flowers for a drop of rose oil) essential oils must be used carefully. Creams, body lotions and massage oils 0.5-2%,
Essential Oils are used...
In aromatherapy essential oils are applied over the skin (massage, bath, compress) or inhaled.
Oil baths invigorate, stimulate and help us treat colds. You need 5-10 drops of oil for a full bath. In body and massage oils there should be around 20 drops in 50 ml of carrier oil. Wheat sprouts oil (cold pressed) has got a strong, dominating and pervasive odor that could distort the aroma of the essential oil. All distilled oils are almost odorless.
If it’s higher the water will boil and evaporate and the oil will simply burn.
For a bowl of hot, steaming water (80 Celsius degrees) you need 3-5 drops of oil. A gauze or a towel is soaked in water with essential oil ( 10 drops of oil for a glass of water). The amount of oil should be smaller – 5 drops and it can stay on the face no longer than 15 minutes. The best oils for the face are flower oils (rose, neroli, lavender etc.)
Essential Oils Precautions
Do not apply undiluted essential oils, absolutes, CO2s or other concentrated essences onto the skin. Use extreme caution when using oils with children and give children only the gentlest oils at extremely low doses. Pregnant women shouldn’t use most of the oils. These which are allowed should be applied carefully (0.5 – 1 % in botanical oil). Breastfeeding women can use jasmine and rose oils. You can’t use any oils on children (especially children before 6).
Sensitive people should be careful with the quality of the oils. People allergic to a particular substance mustn’t use the oil that contains it.
Mix 10 drops of carrier oil with 1 drop of essential oil. You shouldn’t use one type of oil too long.
